Please use this forum to ask any questions about life in Zimbabwe and how Christian Aid is trying to help.

Thanks,

Hi Andy,

Is the church openly active, or has it been forced 'underground' ?

Oh my goodness!

The Archbishop of York has made a very powerful statement.

The silencing of Pius Ncube (whether or not he is guilty of the charges laid against him) has effectively stilled the one truly prophetic voice crying out in the wilderness.

I hope and pray that others will fill his shoes - but all Christians witnessing in this benighted land need prayer now.

Why - does anyone know? - is there such a deafening silence from other African political leaders - esp in S Africa? Is it, as I have been told, truly to do with tribal loyalty first and everything else second?

If we know, we can pray more specifically.

Hi!

I hope that the millitia in Zimbabwe will be fair and king and just to its people, especially its army recruits aho were raped as part for their induction and within their training-group. (according to a report a few years ago).

Tribal culture has many good aspects so I would blame the wrongs rather than the sytem.  For example, Africans blame colonialism, but should we give up our Nationality or blame nationality.  Identity needs to be changed, not abandoned.

The sayings (or vernacular proverbs) of African tribes has helped my growth as a good person!
