There was a much more useful set in the old forum.

What I hadn't noticed until now was that the instructions for uploading Avatars say that they will be scaled to a maximum of 80 x 80. Originally it was 100 x 100.

RE: Welcome to the new forum

Have you noticed that not many people are using the avatars fish has on offer?

RE: Welcome to the new forum

Once you login you will get some extra options at the top of the page. It appears to put the correct spelling immediately after the misspelled word instead of replacing it, at least in the web browser I'm using at the moment (Firefox). When I was using the Opera browser I couldn't get the Spell Check button to work at all.

Ah, well. One of the good things about the Firefox browser is that it comes with its own built-in spell checker.

RE: Welcome to the new forum

Yes! This forum is remarkably similar to the old forum, but with new style buttons, better individual user options and better security for you and us.

All of the elements of the old forum are here, but in different places, so my first piece of advice is to look at all places on the new format pages because something that you're used to with the old forum is still here, just in a different place.

And feel free to explore all of the old and new parts of the forum, as other forum users have been doing during the second testing period, and our thanks to all those who have implemented and tested this new forum.

A revised user guide will be published in the next few days.

Happy posting,

Andy Jackson
Editor, www.surefish.co.uk
