| Apologies if you already know this but because of some ambiguous wording on the surefish website, some users may be expecting a call about a replacement email service. This was only ever for surefish broadband users and so please accept our apologies for any confusion. Please also note that your surefish.co.uk/fish.co.uk email address will not work after October 27th, and you need to find a replacement as soon as possible. We will not be able to access any data after this date. Details about the services from Christian technology, which include new email addresses, can be found here: http://christiantechnology.co.uk/christianaid/ Many thanks, Andy

I can't believe no one told me about this - suddenly my email address is gone, and I have to find a new one! Was there no message sent round to all email users? My e-world has just collapsed - help! (not that anyone can or will of course)

| Leumas, messages were sent out weeks ago, and there have been frequent reminders on this fourm. There really has been plenty of notice - sorry if you missed it.

Thanks Tony,
Messages have been placed everywhere since July and emailed to all Surefish and fish email address holders many times.
We couldn't get a time from our suppliers for the closure just the date. Sorry.
Andy

Leumas - I sympathise with you! This happened to me with a different provider. Surefish have been advising emails users that the service will close since July - however, I fear that many email users will have not received the email notices as they may have been identified as spam or junk by spamfilters (and we all know decent spam filters were pretty essential to make fish email usable!).A quick emergency guide for anyone who has just found out that their surefish email service has vanished. STEP ONE: Read what's actually happened and why. http://www.fish.co.uk/about_surefish/future/index.htm STEP TWO: Take a deep breath, and now try to take in that the above message was actually released in July, displayed prominently on the website and emailed serveral times to all fish and surefish addresses. STEP THREE: Consider your options for a new email address. If you wish to continue supporting Christian Aid through your email address, sign up to a service from Christian Technology. They offer full Webmail/IMAP/POP3 including Spam and Virus Filtering for any people wanting to purchase it. The price will be £2 + VAT per month (including 2 email addresses) with 50p going to Christian Aid. There are other options if you are looking for internet access too. Visit http://www.fish.co.uk/about_surefish/future/ct_affinity_scheme.htm for full details. If the above is not appropriate, then there are several large well known providers of free email accounts including AOL, Hotmail, Yahoo, and Gmail if you are looking for email that is not tied to an internet service provider. Such free services are often funded by advertising. I hope this is helpful!

| My pastor gave-away his Win98 PC without transferring his SureFish PAYG settings. Now, I'm asked to re-establish an ISP on his WinXP Laptop. The 25th October 2008 closure was a surprise; I guess any notices were ignored as Spam. I may setup www.christiantechnology.co.uk/christianaid/dialupchange.html and assume that pop.surefish.co.uk (the eMail cache) is long dead (per KimHart above). It may have been more savvy to close the outgoing smtp.surefish.co.uk, and allow Christian Technology to migrate pop.surefish.co.uk or a "Fetch existing SureFish mail" webmail feature. I pay £19.95PA for POP3 and Webmail access to another legacy eMail A/c with another ISP.
