On a lighter note, what an achievement that David Beckham will make tonight!  100 caps for England.

A man who is a true professional when it comes to football, who modelled grace and dignity when unceremoniously dumped by Steve McLaren, and an example of what can happen when you work hard and be professional in your attitude, don't moan and complain, and thereby get back in the England side.  Well done David Beckham!

I never considered Beckham to be any better than most of his ilk. The financial reward footballers get are out of all proportion to their skill, imo!

I can accept the salaries of the very top footballers to a point as they are probably the same for anyone else at the top of their field.  However, for the slightly more average footballers, some of their wages are ridicolous.  It would take me a few years to earn what they do in a month!
